Affordable Transmission & Auto Repair has changed its name to Certified Transmission & Auto Repair. We are still in the same location and under the same ownership. After many years as 'Affordable', we decided to change our name to better reflect that we stand for quality 'Certified' work along with being 'Affordable'. Please call or stop in and see that we are the same great shop with the same quality, affordable Certified service. Keep reading to see how it all got started...

Affordable Transmission & Auto Repair was founded in 1996 by the Wilkerson family in a small three bay shop in Ferguson Missouri that was formerly a car wash. Mike, Pete and Paul had worked for several years as a installer and rebuilder for a few local transmission shops and had been trained and mentored by some of the finest builders in the St. Louis area. After careful planning, the first Affordable Transmission & Auto Repair shop was opened and shortly gained a regular customer base of people and businesses that needed maintenance and rebuild services. Utility companies such as Laclede Gas and AmerenUE brought their fleet vehicles and trucks to us for dependable service. Regular customers from all over the St. Louis metropolitan area come in to Affordable Transmission & Auto Repair because of the fine quality, trust and workmanship on the job.

Within a few years the shop in Ferguson became too small for operations to expand. The search for new facilities ended with the Dunn Road location in north St. Louis county. With over 14,400 square feet, Affordable Transmission & Auto Repair will use half for an extensive warehouse and build-out facility, using the rest for lift space and offices. In 2004 we moved into the new location and soon will have the facilities ready for our expanded operations. By having a separate area for building, warehousing and installing we will be able to supply our customers with fast reliable auto repairs. When this facility is complete it will be the largest transmission remanufacturing operation in the St. Louis area.
